Run your Maestro tests on real iPhones with BrowserStack
A test that passes on one Simulator tells you the flow works. It doesn't tell you how it behaves on an iPhone SE with a small screen, on iOS 15, or on an iPad. Keeping a drawer of test phones is expensive; that is what device clouds are for.
AppFlight now connects to BrowserStack App Automate, which runs Maestro flows on real devices. You keep recording on the Simulator or your own iPhone, and send the finished test to as many cloud devices as you like.
1. Connect your account
Open Settings → Cloud, paste your BrowserStack username and access key, and press Test connection. The key is stored in the macOS Keychain, never in your project files.
2. Pick devices
A BrowserStack group now sits at the bottom of the Devices column. Press + and pick iPhones and iPads from iOS 15 up: an old small phone, the latest Pro and a tablet make a good spread.
3. Run
Choose your app's device version (an Ad Hoc or Development .ipa; Simulator .app files can't run on real hardware) and press Run. AppFlight packs the test into a self-contained Maestro flow, uploads it, starts every device in parallel and follows the progress. An unchanged .ipa is uploaded only once.
# what AppFlight sends for each test name: checkout appId: com.example.shop --- - launchApp - inputText: ${EMAIL} - tapOn: "Pay"
4. Read the report
Each device gets a card with every test, its error and a video of the run. Results are saved to History with a Cloud badge, so the flaky-test detector sees them too, and the steps of the current test turn ✓ or ✗ just like a local run.
What leaves your Mac
Only the .ipa, the test YAML and the ${VARIABLES} those tests actually use. Unrelated secrets in your environment stay on your machine.
